Art Law Lecture - on Old Masters and Street Art by Tim Maxwell, expert on Art Law and Joint Head of the Art and Luxury Group

Join us for this exciting lecture with our guest speaker Tim Maxwell, a specialist in art law who has acted in many leading cases in the field. We will discuss fraud and artists’ rights in the contemporary art market. We will focus on some landmark cases of Old Masters and Street Art and we will examine the crossovers between art and different areas of law.

Bio: Tim Maxwell is joint Head of the Art & Luxury group. He primarily specialises in disputes and strategic advice regarding forgeries, fraud, title, provenance, and authenticity. Tim represents clients across the spectrum of the art world including artists, auction houses, collectors, dealers, galleries and institutions. He has acted in many of the leading cases involving artists’ rights, art finance, attribution, authenticity, cultural and underwater cultural property/treasure, antiquities, dealer disputes, disputed ownership, fraud, fakes, guarantees, misattribution, pledges, provenance, recovery, restitution and street art. Tim’s practice extends to other luxury assets and collectibles including classic cars, wine, jewellery and yachts.
