Steve Horowitz
Critically acclaimed as one of the foremost figures in the field, Steve is perhaps best known for his original score to the Academy Award nominated film 'Super Size Me'. Horowitz is also a long standing Audio Director at Nickelodeon/Paramount where he has worked on scoring hundreds of beloved video games as well as garnering Webby, Kid Screen and BDA awards.

His compositions have also appeared in television series like 'I Bet you Will' and 'Casino Cinema' for MTV Networks. Horowitz was honoured with a GRAMMY award in 1996 for his engineering work on the album 'True Life Blues, the Songs of Bill Monroe'. In addition to his work in visual media, Horowitz also has a robust catalog of chamber and concert music. He is also the author of two books, 'The Essential Guide to Game Audio: The Theory and Practice of Sound for Games' on Focal press, and 'The Theory And Practice Of Music For Games', published January 2024. Currently, he is the executive director of Technology and Applied Composition (TAC) program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Matt Levine is an accomplished composer and producer of music for games, film, television, and other pictured media. His unique ability to compose memorable themes across a wide range of genres, his cutting edge technical skills, and his resourceful and collaborative approach have earned him a stellar reputation among producers and directors.

Over the years, he has composed and produced music for a wide range of artists, developers and corporate clients. In 2005, Matt joined the Music Department at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and worked there for over a decade. During that time, he directly contributed to 37 titles published by SCEA. As a senior member of an award-winning team he composed and remixed music for many games, including 'The Last of Us', 'Uncharted 3', and 'Infamous: First Light'.

In 2015, Matt joined the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), where he teaches composition and production for video games and film, including collaborations with Sony Interactive Entertainment and with SFFilm. In 2017, Matt earned a certificate in Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts from the California Institute for Integral Studies. He is currently developing an app that integrates sound healing methodologies into the latest technology being used for wellness.

This event is free and open to all.
