London Newsmakers and Goldsmiths' MCCS invite you to Indie News Week 2025
Join us for an evening of talks and Q&As with leading voices in London's local news sector, exploring how independent news providers are working to bring London the news it needs. It’s a chance to celebrate and back the importance of local publications for our communities, as well as discuss the challenges and opportunities they face.
Speakers include:
Jim Waterson, London Centric
Azeez Anasudhin, London Daily Digital
Dorothy Stein, Salamander
Marco Marcelline and David Floyd from Waltham Forest Echo.
Terry Kirby, senior lecturer in journalism at Goldsmiths will speak about how students are taught about the importance of local journalism when working on the two news websites run by the journalism teaching staff, South London Lines and the public-facing East London Lines.
